Begin with the 20% recipe first, then adjust up-or-down in percentage once you have finished your patch test. This peel, non buffered at 20%, will be as strong as 40% buffered products offered online. The kit will allow you to mix a recipe unique to your skin type....make weaker or stronger.....a light exfoliator or a deeper peeling product.....whatever you personally need. Multiple products not needed. This is a wonderfully versatile product. Pre-peel there should be a discontinuation of Retin A, or similar products for at least one week before using this product. Detergent/soap based product neutralize glycolic acid. If you're using soap-based cleansers, use a gentle facial scrub 24 hours before using the product and be sure to use our pH prep solution to properly prepare the skin for the peel. Issues with darker skin tones:: If you have darker skin tones, strong glycolic acid may cause uneven lightening, in patches, on the skin and should not be used in high concentrations.
