Because Lactic Acid is a naturally occurring human metabolite, there is much less chance of allergic reaction using this type of acid peel. If you are looking for a peel with a good acidic value and with virtually no irritation, then this product is for you.

FDA December 2, 2002 Posting - Sun Sensitivity
Clients need to be aware that by using glycolic acid and other peeling products, your skin will be more photo-sensitive than normal. It is recommended that you use a sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15, preferably SPF 30 or higher, after using skin peel products. The FDA recommends using an SPF for one-week post-peel.
Lactic Serum Ingredients:
Purified Water, Lactic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Hydroxide, Licorice Extract, Neolone (Preservative). pH Prep
Water, Witch Hazel, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, FD&C Blue #1
Always patch-test the skin first.
Patch test the areas you plan to treat. If you are doing a facial peel, patch test a small area, about the size of a quarter near the jawline. Follow directions below, rinse thoroughly, then wait 48-72 hours to make sure your skin tolerates the peeling serum nicely.
Directions for doing your peel.
ú Cleanse your skin with a non-acid cleanser. We recommend our Green Tea Pomegranate Cleanser. Rinse thoroughly and pat skin dry.
ú pH Prep Solution - Dispense to a cotton ball or cotton pad and wipe your face to remove oils and dirt from the skin?s surface.
ú Apply the peeling serum. Begin at the forehead and work your way down the face, using a thin layer of serum. Leave on the skin for 3-10 minutes. Begin with fewer minutes as your first effort to ensure a safe experience, then increase weekly as you continue to use the peel.
ú Rinse with warm water and cleanse again with the Green Tea Pomegranate Cleanser.
ú Pat dry.
ú Moisturize with a non-acid, non retinoid moisturizer. We have a few moisturizers that work well post-peel... our Argan Oil, our Peptide Serum w/Botanicals, or our Green Tea Moisturizer.
After the peel:
Your skin may feel warm or appear pink. This is normal. This peel is a rapid exfoliator and does not typically produce visible peeling at the lower strengths. Be certain to use makeup with an SPF factor or use a separate Sunscreen of SPF 30+ to protect newly peeled skin. Use once weekly for 8 weeks to see optimal results.
