20% Vitamin C Serum for Anti-Aging Effects

Vitamin C is perhaps one of the most well-known antioxidants in the world. It helps your body fight free radicals, boosts your immunity, and so much more. But, did you know that this vitamin also offers huge benefits to your skin and combating aging? The key is finding a serum with the correct concentration and pH.

Makeup Artists' Choice's Vitamin C 20% Professional Serum serves as an anti-aging product for sun damage, age spots, and acne-prone skin. Our advanced formulation contains L-ascorbic acid enhanced with Vitamin E, Hyaluronic and Phytic acids. Phytic acid is an antioxidant that helps to block the new formation of melanin. Any skin type can benefit from using Vitamin C.

Benefits of using Vitamin C in skincare

  • Stimulates collagen synthesis (it's actually a coenzyme in the production of collagen!)
  • Helps to fades age spots
  • Brighten the complexion
  • Reduces acne and acne scars
  • Helps protect skin against free radicals and environmental damage
  • Minimizes fine lines and wrinkles
  • Minimizes skin discoloration
  • Heals and improves sun-damaged skin
  • Aids in reversing photo-aging
  • Significantly brighten skin

Why 20% is the magic percentage

When shopping online for a Vitamin C Serum, maximum tissue levels are obtained when a product offers 20% L-ascorbic acid. Any amount higher or lower than 20% is not an optimal concentration. You will see some companies market their serums at 20%. But, they may be using other acid combinations to get to that level.

The L-ascorbic acid in our serum is exactly 20%. Our additional ingredients are used to enhance the product's stability and performance.

Check the pH

pH: Many Vitamin C preparations are not pH adjusted for optimal biologic activity and penetration. The optimal pH of an L-ascorbic acid formula is between 2.5 - 3.0. Anything higher than pH 3 can reduce the ability to penetrate efficiently and lose the overall effectiveness of the vitamin. Anything lower than pH 2.5 can cause irritations and very dry skin.

Cautions and Considerations when Using 20% Vitamin C Serum

Always use a sunscreen of SPF 30+ when using acidic products. This product will last 4-6 months when stored in a cool dry place.

Please note: If you have sensitive skin, please consider our MUAC Super C & E Serum which is unlikely to cause irritation. Always perform a patch test before use.
