Home Chemical Peels - Acid Types and which may be best for your skin-type

Effective Home Chemical Peels for All Skin Types

Home chemical peels have gotten a bad rep over the years, and this is almost always due to misuse. If used properly and safely, home peeling is a very effective anti-aging skincare regimen. The key is choosing the right peels and following directions.

For 24 years, we've sold the top home peels on the web and continue to do so in 2021 with hundreds of very happy clients who've seen life-changing results.

It's important to understand that there are different types of chemical peels designed for your unique skin tone and skin type. Popular home peels include TCA Peels, glycolic acid peels, lactic acid peels, mandelic acid peels, and salicylic acid peels.

Home Chemical Peels Collection

TCA Peels

TCA or Trichloracetic Acid Peels are one of the stronger classes of acid peels. TCA is a great anti-aging peel as it helps soften wrinkles and reduce severe facial lines. These peels are also recommended to improve photo-aging, skin discoloration, sun-damaged skin age spots, and more.

One of our most popular TCA peels is our 30% TCA adjustable kit - you can reduce the strength if you need.

Glycolic Acid Peels

Glycolic acid peels remove dry skin and dead skin cells. These peels also help reduce fine lines and unclog pores. Helps to control acne and blackheads. Here's more of what they do:

  • Provides a smoother skin surface making imperfections less noticeable.
  • Reduces fine lines, stimulates natural collagen production
  • Evens out skin tones and hyperpigmentation
  • Helps to revive and reverse the ravages of sun-damaged skin
  • Leaves the skin feeling very smooth!

Lactic Acid Peels

Lactic acid peels are designed for people with sensitive skin but are also great for mature skin. These peels help clean pores, soften fine lines, and remove facial debris. Lactic Acid Peels are extremely effective in stimulating collagen production. Note: If you have an allergy to lactose (milk) you'll want to stay away from Lactic Acid.

Mandelic Acid Peels

Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid or AHA (and derived from bitter almonds) and is considered a gentle acid for exfoliating the skin. These peels are great for large pores, acne, wrinkles, sun-damaged skin, and melasma.

Salicylic Acid Peels

Salicylic acid peels are perfect for people who have naturally more oily and blemished skin as they usually contain beta hydroxy acid. Salicylic peels are known for cleaning clogged pores and loosening blackheads. Note: if you have an allergy to aspirin, you'll want to avoid using salicylic acid.

PhytX Peel

A superficial peel with exfoliating properties, this is a peel you’ll leave on overnight and is desirable for skin types that cannot tolerate AHA's. Derived from rice, this product is excellent for anti-aging, skin smoothing, brightening, and general discolorations like dark spots. If you suffer from breakouts, you will see improved skin clearing.

Note: our PhytX Peel kit comes with a 1 oz. Green Tea and Pomegranate Cleanser as well as a moisturizer.

Non-Acid Triple Enzyme Peel

This peel offers exfoliation without any harsh acids and contains papain (papaya) bromelain (pineapple) and pumpkin enzymes. All-natural enzymes safely dissolve surface skin debris and leave skin feeling soft, cleansed, and refreshed.

Our enzyme peels are professional strength, exactly what you would get in a very high-end salon. Use enzymes if you have sensitive skin that is non-tolerant of acid usage.

Jessner Peel

A traditional peel that is layered until it frosts, using 14% salicylic, 14% lactic acid, and 14% resorcinol. This peel is ideal for clients with cystic acne, back acne, oily acneic skin types, combination skin types prone to occasional breakouts, and sun-damaged skin and utilizes both alpha and beta hydroxy acids.

This peel will sting significantly on the skin and produce visible peeling for most clients.

Note: do not use if you have allergies to aspirin products.

Radiance Peel - 80% Organic Ingredients!

An alpha/beta peel with mandelic acid and fruit acids. Formulated with more natural forms of acids, this peel is awesome for all skin types. As an excellent exfoliator, this peel can help to combat acne by deep cleaning pores while reducing blackheads. It is also effective for anti-aging, discoloration, scars, and refining skin tone and texture.

5 Acid Body Peel

This top-selling product contains a variety of acids including lactic, mandelic, and glycolic. We've included Licorice Root Extract to help even out skin tones. This unique product doesn't cause actual "peeling" rather a deep exfoliation! Clients love it. See some of their reviews.
