Acne breakouts are aggravating and can cause scars on the face and other parts. Acne scars can be an unwelcome reminder of a painful condition. However, some home remedies and medical treatments can help fade acne scars.
Trichloracetic Acid (TCA) Peels are a deeper peeling and penetrating acid. Their benefits include reducing hyperpigmentation, reducing wrinkles, scars, and dark spots. In addition to treating acne, TCA peels are used to treat age spots and general scarring. Peels using trichloroacetic acid improve skin tone and texture. Various strengths and concentrations are available; however for scaring we recommend starting with our 12.5% TCA Home Peel.
***If you are unsure of which TCA peel strength you need, try our 30% TCA Adjustable Peel which allows you to begin at 10% and increase the strength as needed. We include easy “recipes” to mix a fresh peel for each application!***
Home Chemical Peels For Scars
Some other chemical peels that are great for scarring include our 25% Mandelic Acid, 40% Lactic Acid, and 30% Glycolic Acid. Let’s break them down individually below:
25% Mandelic Acid is a mild acid that exfoliates the skin with minimal irritation. Excellent for preventing brown patches and hyperpigmentation. No undesirable skin whitening in darker skin tones. Mandelic Acid will improve acne scarring, sun damage, big pores blackheads wrinkles, and lackluster skin.
MUAC 40% Lactic acid is great for scaring because it is a mild exfoliant that causes minimal peeling. This is a good first chemical peel. Lactic acid is good for sensitive skin. This is a wonderful choice if previous acid treatments have failed. This product contains licorice extract, a powerful botanical skin lightener. Is a gentle acid treatment for sensitive skin. No "downtime", no skin cracking, simply sloughing off of dried sebum and surface skin detritus.
30% Glycolic Acid is used in exfoliating cleansers, toners, and even face masks. But what are the advantages of a glycolic acid peel? A Glycolic Acid Peel at Home may be appealing if you've only ever used glycolic acid in your at-home skincare products.
Try our Fade Serum! All of the components in this fabulous Fade Serum have been clinically proven safe and effective in reducing hyperpigmentation and melasma. Our serum stops new melanin (brown discoloration) from growing and fades old melanin. Naturally hydrating skin with natural moisturizing ingredients.
"Glycolic acid" is an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA). Aha's dissolves dead skin cells, allowing them to be readily removed, revealing smoother, younger skin behind.
